Kimberly Bryant is a renowned African-American engineer and entrepreneur who is best known for founding Black Girls Code, a nonprofit organization that aims to teach young girls of color how to code, as well as to increase the number of women and minorities in the technology field.

 


In 2011, Bryant founded Black Girls Code in order to address the lack of diversity in the technology industry and to give girls of color the tools and resources they need to succeed in the field.

 

Bryant has received numerous awards and accolades for her work with Black Girls Code, including being named one of the 25 Most Influential African Americans in Technology by Business Insider in 2013 and one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company in 2015.

 

She has also been featured in several documentaries and media outlets, including CNN, Forbes, and The Huffington Post.

 

In addition to her work with Black Girls Code, Bryant has been an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the technology industry. She has spoken at conferences and events around the world, including the White House Tech Inclusion Summit and the South by Southwest Interactive Festival, and has written about her experiences as a woman of color in the industry.
